Elaine Baker 300 Words Competition for under 16’s

Hear all 9 winners of this year’s ‘300 Words’ competition as they share their work in front of a live audience. Prizes will be awarded to the three winners in each of our three categories: 8 & under, 9 – 12, 13 – 15, together with a prize for the overall winner, who also be awarded a £100 book token for their school.

Our Judge and compere for the afternoon is local poet Elaine Baker, Patron of Writing at Didcot Girls’ School and Poet-in-Residence at the Vale & Downland Museum.

For those who are 15 (or under) and wish to enter this years competition, then please send a poem, song, story or play (max 320 words) to wantagelitfestcompetions@gmail.com by the 30th September. You must include with the entry, the name, age and school for the child and email details for an appropriate adult who the team can liaise with. We will notify finalists (who all win a prize) by the 10th October. The child must be able to attend the event in Wantage on Sunday 27th October at 2pm.
